Tec 9

The Tec 9 is a Machine Pistol available for use in 1988, 1994 and 2005. In all games which it is featured, it is commonly used by gangs, despite it's relatively slow rate of fire. The stopping power of the Tec 9 is also unimpressive.

Description[]

The TEC 9 is a cheap open-bolt handgun manufactured in the United States between 1980 to 1994 by Intratec. It is based on the Carl-Gustav M/45 submachine gun, more commonly known as the "Swedish K". Originally it was designed as a low-cost alternative to the M/45, but never found a military market. Not wanting to abandon the idea, Intratec put semi-automatic versions onto the civilian market. It gained infamy after criminals found the open-bolt design to be easily convertible to be fully automatic.

A number of magazine sizes of available for the Tec 9, including 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 72 round magazines. The only caliber the weapon accepts stock is a 9mm, but it can be modified for other calibers. It acepts multiple attachments, including a laser scope, and an extendable stock. However, it cannot be silenced.

It should be noted that, in 1994 and 2005, the weapon is highly illegal, and producing it in front of a police officer will get you a rather high notoriety in comparison to 1988.
